Inferences: Making predictions/drawing conclusion based off of information in the text and by looking at the pictures.
Summarizing/Main Idea and Details: We are working on identifying the main idea in text and details that support that idea. Usually in non-fiction text, the main idea is in the first sentence or right after. The supporting details are the "meat of the paragraph" and then the main idea is usually stated again at the end of the paragraph or story. Check out the video below to review this skill!
Making Connections: While reading, we are learning to make deep connections. The types of connections we are learning about are:
